Let's not even discuss it, ok? I'm awake but I don't want to be. Satya woke up about an hour ago and I successfully got her back to sleep, but now my brain is going. So in Anna Maria Horner-style , I'm doing this post up bullet-point style. Not because I don't care, because my brain can't make anything flow.
- End of year with symphony, emotionally exhausting. Last concerts with Music Director. Will leave it at that.
- End of year at Satya's Waldorf school, emotionally exhausting. So happy about what school she will go to in the Fall for preschool (already?!?), but sad that she won't be with her friends or her wonderful teacher.
- Brandy and I went to TNNA last weekend. Do you know what that means? WE MET IN PERSON FOR THE FIRST TIME!
- Very exciting, but not as emotional as I expected. I had envisioned tears, chariots of fire music in the background, etc., but we've gotten to know each other so well via email, gmail chat and phone, that it was like hey, what's up?
- Boy did we have a great time! We made Petite Purls project bags the first night; there was a Ravelry ice cream social; have you seen Ysolda's booth? Or Blue Sky Alpacas for that matter? Did Allegra take ANY pictures? What do you think?
- met absolutely amazing people, including: Kate Oates (TotToppers), Theresa Belville (Little Turtle Knits), Stefanie Japel, Olgajazzy, the Ravelry Team (all so very nice!), Nicky Epstein, Amy Butler, Bonne Marie Burns, Ysolda, Connie Chang Chinchio, Gudrun Johnston, Ysolda's awesome assistant Sarah, Melynda (French Press Knits), Amy Singer, Jillian Moreno, Joanna Johnson (run out RIGHT NOW and buy her book, Phoebe's Sweater. She published it herself and it's lovely. It's Satya's favorite book right now!), Robyn Chachula, Miriam Felton.
- Ok, that's not the whole list but my brain is foggy. I wish I had met Cookie A and Anne Hanson, but I guess I'll save those for next time.
- It's hard to choose a favorite moment from TNNA, but I have two (other than meeting Brandy) that really REALLY stick out:
- meeting and interviewing Debbie Bliss. Oh.My.God. Was a bit starstruck, but she was truly lovely and spent at least 45 minutes talking to us. Really lovely.
- meeting and chatting with Teva Durham. Sadly no pic for proof! I have always loved Teva's designs, and her first book Loop-d-Loop was one of the first knitting books I ever bought. She was wonderful to talk to. We enjoyed tea and cupcakes together in Ysolda's booth on Sunday. (Yes, Ysolda had tea and cake every day during the conference. )
- Speaking of Ysolda, she was so lovely. This girl is so creative and talented and good at everything we saw. Her booth was amazing. I will try to link to a good photo.
- Oh and I got to spend time with Brandy's LG. Here's a picture of Stefanie Japel and me wearing babies!
- here's a not-half-bad pic of me
- Ravelry did this cool thing called Hello TNNA, where they tweeted about things they saw at TNNA. Here's ours
- Did I ever mention (probably not) that this TNNA trip was the first time I was ever away from Satya since she was born? It was hard, but we all survived.
- Now we're gearing up for Petite Purls Summer 2010 issue to go live on Monday. Like this Monday. It's a sweet issue, I think you'll really enjoy it.
- Things are crazy busy here and so to continue in regular fashion, posts will be sporadic. I will do the best I can. Am working on a new logo and hoping the blog will get a makeover later this summer.
- Oh, I have finished my Adult Boheme. Re-release of pattern, plus this new adult version later this summer as well.
- It's not like I sit around and eat bon-bons all day.
- Oh and my first submission to a book was accepted.
- Leave me a comment and say hi!

Hi! :-) I can't wait to see the summer issue of Petite Purls.
