Happy Easter!

Img_1678_2

(Good) Friday Favorites

Don't have much time, but definitely wanted to write this post. Have a few faves this week, with a couple Easter finds. Have a great weekend everyone and Happy Easter, if you celebrate it! I hope to be back in a couple of days with a possible FO and stash sale info.

* I love this. So many possibilities.

*Reason # nine million: why I must learn how to sew!

* I never got my act together to make Satya a mobile, but here's some inspiration.

*These definitely will be knit for fall!

* Chocolate Fig Muffins. (scroll down for recipe) Need I say more?

* I love her prints. She's now putting out a new set of postcards! Yay!

* A cute way to keep your babe snuggly. Although pricey...I think it would be easy to figure out a pattern.

Easter finds:

* Adorable!

* Awwww, tweet! tweet!

* More cuteness!

WIP Priorities

This is basically a list for me, to help me stay on track.

In order of priority (even if it's not what I *feel* like doing):

1. Cobblestone (want to finish by Easter.....)
2. Secret knitting (sooner rather than later)
3. Single Sock Swap Sock (need to have finished by April 8th)
4. Other secret knitting (by June)
5. Twinings Shawl for MIL (by June)
6. Juliet

Not to mention the other projects OTN:
Tilted Duster
Lenore Hedera
Neapolitan Socks

Hey so I am so not organized about my Destashing sale yet. It'll happen, don't worry.

Never Mind

Never mind about the yarn and pattern. I have found inspiration, another yarn (from my stash, thank you!) and a fab pattern. That's all I can say about it as it's a secret project. I've had yet another brainstorm for a pattern I want to design, and I'm very excited about this one. Now I just have to find the time.....
Oh, and never mind having a celebration about Satya sleeping through the night. She's back to her regular sleeping shenanigans again, but at least there's potential.

Which Yarn?

So my mommy has these two yarns to choose from to make a pair of socks.
Img_1653

I'm checking the ball bands: (left) is Colinette Jitterbug: Morello Mash, and the other (right) is Red Rocks Fiber Works: Eden Berry
Img_1654

I don't know, the red is awfully nice......
Img_1655

Here's a close-up
Img_1656

I like them both, what do you think? Mommy's having a hard time choosing.
Img_1657

What? And you need to choose a pattern??
Img_1658

Now, I'm thinking the Eden Berry. You might not be able to tell, but it's a pretty combination of sage green, cream and rose
Img_1659

I think I'll go by which tastes better.....
Img_1660

They both taste good to me!!! Can you help my mommy decide, and maybe give her some suggestions on sock patterns?
Img_1662

Hurray!

she slept through the night! she slept through the night! she slept through the night!!!

I swear her doctor has the magic touch. We went for Satya's 6 month check up yesterday and were discussing her poor nighttime sleep habits lately, and last night she slept from 10pm- 7:30am only getting up once at 5am for a 10 minute meal. AWESOME!!! I hope this is a pattern that will continue! Of course, I was up from 1:30am-4, but I think it was because I was so excited that she was sleeping.
So according to the doctor's graphs and all, Satya is the size of an average NINE month old. Heh heh. She's been wearing 9 month old pants for a while now. She'll still fit into 6 month tops and sleepers, although I think we might have to go buy a few sleepers today.
I have uploaded all my pictures for my Destashing Sale. I plan to make it "Live" by Monday. Need to write descriptions and prices. Lots of goodies though. Don't be turned off by my pictures, they had to be done fast, with antsy child wanting to play.

Have a great weekend!

Six Months

We celebrated Satya's six month birthday this weekend with a weekend trip to Steamboat Springs and Winter Park. Lovey did a lot of snowboarding, and babe and I did a lot of, er, sitting. We took her to her first Hot Springs and she did really well. Just got annoyed when she got out of the water and was chilly!
I can't believe how quickly time has passed in the last six months! And I can't believe how much she does these days: sitting up by herself for long periods of time, talking up a storm-- her favorite right now is "ba-ba", the fact that teeth are trying to come in (!!), wanting to hold, play, suck, eat everything she can get her hands on! Amazing. I thought we had some more time before we had to put everything in the middle of the dinner table!
So our trip was nice. I went into two cute boutiques in Steamboat and with their overpriced clothing, it really made me think, damn I need to learn how to sew for real. I had at least four brainstorms for patterns and designs. I'm really excited, but for now I'm going to let them simmer in my head and work on honing my knitting skills and learn how to use my damn sewing machine.
Possible stupid question: when knitting toe-up from a cuff down pattern, can you just flip the beginnings and ends of charts? Now that I love toe-up socks, I want to figure out how to knit all the cuff down patterns.
Be prepared for a HUGE DESTASHING by the end of the week. I mean HUGE. Like probably half my stash. Really. I've decided to keep my stash at dull roar, and since it all lives under Satya's crib and we're going to need to lower it soon, a lot has got to go.

I want to thank everyone for their support last week with all the photo-theft bullsh*t. I don't want to make my blog exclusive, I love that people come visit me here and delurk every once in a while. I love that I can look up a new kniiting technique or find a million different versions of a pattern, find a blog, and meet new, wonderfully creative friends along the way. Therefore, I plan to keep things as is. I hope I don't have another experience like I did last week, and I wish the same for all my readers.
I was feeling a bit hesitant about posting a Satya picture today, but I know you're all craving one. :)

Can't Let it Go.....

So I'm a bit obsessed with the blog of the photo-stealer right now. I've been looking at all the pictures, and I'm pretty sure this person steals right off other people's websites. One post had a bunch of pictures that were "watermarked" (thanks Veronique for the tip!) with someone's blog, so I decided to go to the said blog. I am pretty sure that this person has no affiliation with the photo-stealer's blog. I emailed her to warn her, but seeing that her blog was written all in portuguese, I worry that she won't read/understand my email. On another post of the photo-stealer, there were pictures with the watermark "Copyright 2007@blah blah blah" from someone who is clearly NOT the photo-stealer. Blatant theft. Unbelievable!

On a happier note, when the Teething fairy returned my happy-lovestosleep child to me, she gave me Satya v2.0. *This* Satya takes 1 1/2 hr naps in her CRIB!!!!!! For the first time since she was a newborn! I think I'll keep her! :)

I promise, I will try to stop posting about the photo-stealer. *Try* being the important word here.

In the meantime, let me take a poll:

If you had had this experience on your blog, or your flickr account, or anything, would you make your blog/portion of your blog password protected? Would you wait it out? Would you wait until, heaven forbid, it happened again? Help me decide what to do.

Thanks!

Thank You

I actually don't feel like I should have to thank the person who stole my pictures and finally took them off her site, but I will.
Thank you to my readers and supporters for your comments and support. I am still boiling about this. Whoever this person is, I think, steals photos from knitting websites and blogs and puts them on hers. If you check her website out, there is NO way that she took all those pictures.
I am still considering putting all of my posts with pictures of Satya on my Knocked Up Knitter blog and make it password protected. Of course I would invite all of my readers that have become fans of Satya (who wouldn't?) to ask me for the password. But I am still debating this.

You can mess with me, but the minute it involves my daughter, I'll go for your jugular.
