Well! Lots to tell you, knitting wise. I finally sent off my postcard package to my Project Spectrum Postcard Swap Pal. I am very excited about my package, I wish I could post pictures, but I'll wait until I know she received it. It sure celebates Yellow and Orange.
I have found out who my spoiler and spoilee for the Knitting Vacation Swap are. My Spoiler is Judy and My Spoilee is Melissa. I look forward to getting to know both of them, and being creative and spoiling Melissa.
Look what the nice mail-lady brought while I was in Chicago:
Aren't these nice packages to come home to?!?! I got the wonderful Mason-Dixon Knitting, Inspired Cable Knits by Fiona Ellis, and The Yarn Harlot's Meditations for Women who Knit too Much. I also ordered some Karabella patterns, which I'll talk about in a second. But looky at the glorious Malabrigo in Brown Berries!!!! I ordered this months ago for the Einstein Coat, and the yarn finally arrived! It's better than I expected, lots of pink, a good amount of brown, and a hint of olive sometimes. I look forward to casting on (in August).
So I fell in love with this Karabella pattern:
This is going to replace the Somewhat Cowl that I started last month (Sorry Wendy!!) I think my red cashmere is going to LOVE this pattern. Of course, it is now a fall project, like just about everything else I cast on a month ago. But still, I can't wait!
I also got Nicky Epstein's Newest: Knitted Flowers, that literally came out of the shipping box at my LYS today. Lovely stuff. Pretty flowers. I somehow picked up Debbie Bliss' Pure Silk book as well.
What do I plan to do with all these knitting books? Drool over them while I practice the violin.
When I was in Chicago, I wound a bunch of my yarn, since I was a great daughter and bought my dad a yarn swifter and ball winder for his birthday. He is shipping all the yarn back to me, I can't wait to take pics of the cute yarn cakes! I bought some really nice hand-dyed Alpaca from Fringe. The colors are great for Project Spectrum this month. Speaking of Fringe, they will be opening a side-business this summer of hand dyed yarns. Check out their website. I think their website is beautiful, and only a hint of how beautiful their yarn will be!
Another AWESOME website that just started recently is PureKnits. Wow. Gorgeous stuff. I look forward to shopping there (they have HABU!!!!)
Well, I need to get my butt practicing, but before I go: Since I haven't had much time to knit lately, I am totally envious of all the beautiful projects that are being created on many of the blogs I stalk often. I am always impressed by the knitting talent out there. And although I haven't been able to contribute too much to Project Spectrum this month, I have noticed that I try to honor the Project everyday in daily life. It has made me appreciate colors more (or dedicating my love for color to one or two rather than all!), which makes my daily life very happy. Thanks Lolly!!
When my month of hell is over, I plan to come back knitting with a vengeance!

So glad to see you'll be making the Karabella top too! And all that brown berries, isn't Malabrigo just wonderful? Enjoy it!
